CountyLine Tool provides expert manufacturing and refurbishing of cutting tools. We are a progressive, female-owned company with the primary goal of achieving excellence in everything we do. At CountyLine, we strive to exceed customer expectations without fail.

We are the first U.S. KOMET SERVICE® partner. We provide professional tool processing for refurbishment and carbide custom tool manufacturing. Our precisely defined and strictly controlled work procedures for original re-grinding are performed on state-of-the-art equipment by highly skilled technicians. This allows us to deliver a reconditioned tool which will achieve a machining precision of up to 100% in comparison to a new tool.

For the processing of your tools, we rely on the latest CNC grinding centers and high-precision measuring devices. This equipment allows us to manufacture high-quality, highly complex special tools that achieve minimal tolerance ranges in a fully automated operation. Our design capability, combined with the resources of the KOMET GROUP, allows us to provide you with special tools that will meet your most stringent production requirements. With the integration of these components, as well as our access to factory-original coatings, we can offer you high-precision tools with an excellent tool life.

It is our goal to posture our company for market expansion through technology, delivery, superior quality and customer service.

CountyLine Growth

CountyLine Tool was founded in 1984 by Harold Weiss of Washburn, IL. In 1985, Harold and his two brothers Albert, Tommy entered the tool business by sharpening saws in their family's garage. In 1985, CountyLine expanded their service menu to include industrial tools of all types. The Weiss brothers continued to grow the business for 27 years.

In April of 2012, CountyLine Tool was purchased by Vonda Jones. Vonda and Vice President of Operations Steve Schatsiek have hit the ground running. From day one, our focus has been quality improvement, technology advancement and customer satisfaction. We immediately invested in a new Walter Helicheck Pro and an Anca MX-7, and put extensive training programs into place.

Our November, 2012, relocation from Washburn to East Peoria, IL, offered yet another way to improve quality and customer service. CountyLine Tool relies on a team of proven tool-grinding professionals, significant investments in technologically advanced equipment, and a 10,500-square-foot climate-controlled facility to provide quality-minded customers with high-caliber tools and unwavering personalized service.

Just a month after relocating to East Peoria, CountyLine Tool became the first United States Komet Service Partner. We are very excited about this milestone and look forward to working with such a great team in the years ahead! In addition to providing customers with refurbishment services for KOMET brand standard and made-to-order solid carbide tools, we manufacture and refurbish a vast array of cutting tools. These include high-performance carbide drills, gear hobs and shapers, reamers, end mills, step tools, gun drills, and many other tool types.

Vonda Jones, President

Vonda was involved in the start-up, foundation, ownership and growth of a previously-owned machine and assembly shop in Wyoming, Illinois. The business grew from three people in 1983 to 55 people, three shifts and approximately $10 million in annual sales by January of 2000.

Vonda is thrilled to be part of both the amazing management team and the fantastic employee family at CountyLine Tool. She assists with investments, technology advancement, staffing, strategic planning, employee compensation and benefits, and setting quality-improvement and marketing goals.
